WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
Our seasonally oriented programs teach students basic survival skills under drastically changing conditions during all times of the year. We teach year round and in any weather.
In our wide range of wilderness courses, you will learn how to construct primitive traps and snares, enhance available clothing for greater warmth, shelter construction, direction finding, animal and food preparation, water purification, personal survival skills, fire building, dealing with hypothermia and the psychology of a survival mindset.

Session Description
This session is specifically designed for anyone who has never really been in the outdoors and just wants to get some simple instruction on what to do out in the woods. It’s a safe place for people with low experience in the outdoors that want to get out and learn the basics without fearing judgement for not having much knowledge.
This session is also a great intro to our more advanced sessions.
In this session, we'll introduce you to the multiple important topics such as:

Gear reviews and discussion (tenting, sleeping gear, knives, axes and much more).

Choosing a good campsite, how to book one and general camping.

Where to get firewood and what to do with it.

Using an axe or hatchet safely!

Building your first campfire safely and how to keep it going.

Cooking over a campfire (we'll actually cook some food!)

Bear safety, bear spray and how to keep them out of your campsite.

General first-aid, kits and how to be prepared.
-
Fishing info, gear and regulations.
-
Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs and what to do about them!
-
Much, much more!!
** A big, warm campfire will be going for the duration of this session!
What to bring:

DRESS WARM if it's cold out. (Head to toe!)

A backpack or bag with your camping gear.

Your own snacks and warm drinks.
